What happens if you attack roche

I believe it's the only choice of consequence, if memory serves correctly. Juzifer View Profile View Posts. Last edited by Juzifer ; 10 Sep, pm.

Lorska View Profile View Posts. Seeks to unite all nonhumans under Seskie banner and live in peace. Is going right away to Aerdin or whatever it's called. Roche Seeks to revenge the king, consequently clean Geralt's name. Geralt is on a kind of debt with him, since he helped him to scape. He wants to deal with Loredo before anything else. I think Geralt would never ever ally with a bandit, nor join a cause which doesn't concerns him, but at same time, he's inlove with Triss, and wait more time before act seems something that he would not do.

So I believe it would be more accurate if you ally with iorveth, with the save game that you're aiming to import on TW3, but like everyone already said, do both. Originally posted by DecayWolf :. Last edited by zacharyb ; 10 Sep, pm. Asterio View Profile View Posts.

Originally posted by zacharyb :. The beast near pulled Sosek into the depths, and you're simply chatting with this damsel! Butt out. Sosek's alive, isn't he? The monster's vanished without a trace. About the monster What happened? A moment ago, I had the good fortune to see it in all its splendor, but the local folk scared it away.

You hear that, Sosek? That was some good fortune for you! Summoned by the witch, perchance? Care to fight the monster yourselves? Huge it is! Big as a mountain! Maybe we'll do it together. We'll draw it away from the port beforehand, so as not to endanger the likes of you.

I've no preference for who does it - witch or witcher Get out of here. Not likely. You get your arse out of Flotsam, wanderer! Come on, lads. Lay him inside somewhere. Come on, lads, this sorcerer's eager for a thrashin'! Come on, lads, let's go. I was ready for a rumble, there. Tell me about the monster It is in this capacity that I must inquire if you're willing to attempt to resolve the problem of our so-called kayran - the beast that now blocks all trade traffic on the river.

Are we willing? My way or the highway, as the locals put it Madame De Tansarville has, I believe, already conducted some preliminary negotiations I had my doubts if the kayran was worth the journey, but those were dispelled with what it showed today. All those disgusting marvels we take from dying species To throw into the cauldron at sabbaths. Right, Triss? Your sense of humor seems to be intact, too. But enough of these pleasantries. Maybe inhabited one of the Pontar's tributaries before, hunting animals Then it grew for some reason and hunger drove it to seek fresh pastures.

You're partly correct. Cedric claims the kayran emerged from the northern swamps approximately one month past. Formerly a Scoia'tael. Strange bird, but he knows quite a bit about the area and its living wonders. I'll talk to the merchants about the reward, pay Cedric a visit and get back to you I've rented lodgings there - on the upper floor. Highway's washed out, forest's full of bandits, a river beast blocks the port and tolls are to rise!

You can split that reward if you wish. Where's our advance? Costly preparations. I've but a handful of orens now, though it should buy you plenty of drink and a few hours of ploughing. Double the fee and I'm in. You jest. If she finds out you tried to cheat her, you'll have more than the kayran to fear. Your meaning's clear. I shall add some gold, but the reward will not double under any circumstances. And there's sufficient gold in it for you and the sorceress already. I assume you to be professionals and worth every last copper paid to you.

We'll pay exactly what we promised and not a penny more. We shall increase the reward. You'll both be satisfied, I assure you. Get back to me when you've had enough of Flotsam. But if the sorceress fails, you'll be stuck here with your goods till winter. Your losses would be far higher than the cost of hiring me. See you. No need to get cross. Time is coin - I understand that very well. If your participation will expedite the matter, so be it. We'll add two fistfuls of orens, though our pouches will be empty.

Gimme an advance. I've no knowledge of these things. He's supposed to know all about monsters. Anyway, know where I can find an elf named Cedric? The merchants are putting up a lot of coin But it's still pretty useful. Why not? Even more dangerous to her friends. Any specific reason? I guess I'll have to ask her. If you don't want to talk, don't talk. I'll find out for myself. I know what I saw. I know her to be devious and manipulative.

Her true intentions have always been hard to fathom. He should be at the top of his observation tower. It'll be nearly a year now. Enjoy the memory of her, don't wallow in the longing. But I cannot believe all the bad blood this disappearance has bred. Hatred is but an outlet for helplessness. Va fail. I hunt monsters. I set traps, snares That's all.

Meaning the kayran? Finally, Loredo's splurged Listen, I'm not one to teach your grandmother to suck eggs - you witchers know your work - but if you pay me, I can prepare a useful trap. Whatever you like. Since I can easily finish off an ensnared nekker, it should be child's play for you. Who was Moril? Some say she was too beautiful and dh'oine must have harmed her. And they tell me the forest did not take her. Perhaps she was murdered, perhaps she departed on her own, never to return.

She's gone - and neither I nor Seherim can reverse that. Who are you and what do you do here? Yet the forest is older. I've lived in it for years and understand it, though it's nothing I can explain. At times I make mistakes, and people don't come home. Do I smell liquor? Are you drunk? Know what the Squirrels want to achieve? Or about the young ones, who fight for survival and out of suicidal revenge? In truth, however, they're but a shadow of the Aen Seidhe's former glory. They cling to delusions to the very moment when a sword or a noose ends their life.

Or until they realize the truth themselves. Which is, I believe, the worst. He's in the area, mounts the occasional ambush, then lies low for a few days. But he's yet to put together a larger attack. He's fought regular troops, attacked much larger settlements. Delaying the fight this long is unlike him. Unless there's something I don't know about. I'm hunting the kayran. Can you help? Heard you might be able to help. Now, I don't know The beast has become too large for the riverbed, and it has strange growths on its tentacles, extremely thick skin Previously, it inhabited a swamp along one of the Pontar's tributaries.

Completely wild terrain, even the Scoia'tael don't venture there. You should go see the wreck of the boat it recently sank. Inspect any traces it's left, see the destruction. You'll find the ruins of a bridge erected long ago by the Aen Seidhe. The wreck lies at their foot. Sure you're not overusing those teleports? He meets her at the top of the hill. We're looking for traces of the beast, not boats. Geralt notices footprints.

Strange place for an evening walk. Not good enough for the kayran, though. It should answer a few questions. It's dying. What's wrong with it? Any information could be useful. I mean, I'm a mutant In some ways, they're more effective than healthy cells, but they're out of control They converge to create a red tissue - very unpleasant Want to know the core difference between mutants and non-mutants?

Some other time. Anything more specific? TRISS: The changes made through alchemy and magic in your body would require thousands of years to develop on their own. This development would result from genetic errors that would cause your body to adapt, become a more efficient organism - effectively mutate, but over a very long time.

When this development occurs over millennia, across multiple generations, we proudly call it natural selection, evolution. When it occurs quickly, in a single organism or a few representatives of a species, we frown on it as mutation.

An ostmurk potion should do the trick. I need to think, figure out how I want to fight the kayran. Maybe I won't need the potion. You could try Cedric. Here's the formula for the potion. I need to take care of some things. Manage without me for a while?

It's a rare variety of moss, grows underground. There are some caves to the south, deep in the woods. If ostmurk grows anywhere in the area, it will be there. He brews the mongoose potion in preparation for the kayran fight. Come back after dusk. It's very valuable. I need to talk to the Commandant, too. And when I say jump, you will not only The bastard's got a ballista. You know the power of this weapon? ROCHE: Its arms strengthened with bronze plates and strung with horsehair, it can propel heavy bolts up to a mile away.

GERALT: Yeah, an experienced crew can release two bolts each minute, but it can't hit the same spot twice because it recoils and shifts. I've heard that somewhere before. We need to damage it if we don't want to be at Loredo's mercy. They're all drunk here now. I'll provoke the guard I don't want to fight this rabble again. Go have a drink. Women prefer ugly men to groomed dandies. And you're ugly something mighty. Care for a romp? What's your name?

I wanted to surprise my friend. The sad-looking guy by the ballista. Extravagance, as I see it. I didn't like it. Your specialty. It'll be my standard rate. Tryin' to put one by me? That'll cost you more. Those are the rules Just get him away from the ballista.

But I'll not pry. It'll cost you double. I mean no point in giving brutes and louts a good reason to perfect their skills, eh?

Any other way I could convince you? Give them a good thrashing and I'll even blow Just humiliate them someways. Humiliating Myron and Alphonse - that was something. Let's do this. A lame mutant, downright pitiful. The Gray Wolf? Let's begin. The old man got me I need to eat, build up a bit.

Your comrades are well at it, havin' their fun. Why should you be any worse? Let's go. Let's go see Loredo. Come back later. But you wanted to do it alone, so go talk to the buffoon. We should look around Did you see that arbalist behind the house? Why don't you find out what they're guarding so closely.

MAN: In point of fact, it's a matter for the witcher. I have an offer Let me hear it. MAN: I suspect you did not come to Flotsam for pleasure alone MAN: Do you know about the monster in the river? MAN: I expect someone will hire you to deal with it sooner or later. Thus, I presume that Just tell me what you want. MAN: Our honored host is in possession of part of a trap, built especially for the beast in question.

MAN: Around back there's a storage area where Loredo keeps the treasures he confiscates from merchants and travelers. There are heaps of things out there MAN: Precisely. I saw Loredo's men carrying the contraption across the garden in a crate. They placed it on a platform by the wall beyond which lies the craftsmen's district.

MAN: Why, we need to be rid of the beast as soon as possible! Good luck! Not a thing. You sneak behind the house. Report to me immediately! Have respect for your superiors or spend the rest of your life on the king's galley. Isn't that right? The Commandant will hear of this.

Through the windows next to the first guard, Loredo's mother can be seen mumbling to herself and puttering around what appears to be a fisstech lab. La-da-dum, da-dum, da-da-da-dum, -da-dum You take guardsman off the streets to guard carpets, fabrics and spices pilfered from merchants.

Do you have any grasp of the responsibility that rests with you? I've ruled Flotsam for years. That fear rules even you. In time, Commandant, they'll hang you by the neck from a roadside tree like a regular bandit. And rightly so, for you're no better. They'll pile kindling at your feet. Fear has confused you. Think over what I said and give your answer before it's too late.

He may be expecting Iorveth to attack. That's not all I couldn't pinpoint the topic of their conversation, but it seems to me he's angling for something. I'd hardly call this a hut. We've been ordered to let in the witcher but no one else. Fine - he wants to play hard, we'll play hard. I'll call for support! Tell Loredo I got the message. Defeating Ves will unlock. Gladiator Defeat all opponents in the Kaedweni arena.

When the fight is over leave the fort and go to the blue tents in Roche's camp. Speak with Ves when you arrive and say 'That was a great duel. Once inside the the tent say to Ves 'She's both brave and beautiful. Heartbreaker Seduce Ves. Go back into the fort and into the King's area then go see Dethmold.

Ask Dethmold to take a look at the notes you collected in the hidden room under the hut during the Lost Sisters quest. When Dethmold asks to take the notes of your hands you must decline. Head over to the canteen in the lower part of camp and check out the noticeboard to pick up the Rotfiend Contract. If you haven't happened across a book that teaches you more about Rotfiends go out past the brothel area outside the fort and kill some.

After killing a bunch of Rotfiends you will see a notification pop up in the bottom right of the screen telling you of knowledge gained? Once you have the required knowledge you must travel around the battlefield to burn some soldiers corpses. The corpses can be a bit difficult t spot and won't be arked out for you so HERE is a map showing roughly where they are. The first three are in the area behind the tower standing by the brothel, a second group of three can be found along the brothel side of the river near a merchant cart.

The final three are at the northern end of the map, when you reach them you will find a group of soldiers being attacked. Kill all the Rotfiends to trigger another quest then burn the bodies here if the soldiers died loot a note from the Visionary to start the quest. Still in the area of the last group of bodies go up the path at the back of the area, if you wind up back at the fort you took the wrong path. When you reach a fork take a right and Geralt should say something about his medallion, if you keep going you will soon be attacked by a small group of Endrega.

From the Endrega go down a path to the right it should be a sort of S-bend , out the other side you will get a small scene as you meet a group of men wanting to capture you so kill them. Go back to where you killed the Endrega and turn right, this area is a dead end but if you search the puddles of water you should find a body with the Arbitrator Steel Sword which should be considerably better than what you currently have equipped.

Return to the fork in the road from before and this time go left. As you go up the path you will be attacked by a group of Harpies and someone will call over for you to get 'inside the candles'. After killing the Harpies and looting them you can leave the area and return to fight another large group of them.

Do this as many times as you like and sell the loot to reach 10, Orens within hours. This will unlock. Miser Collect orens. When you're ready to continue enter the candled area and follow the man inside. Talk to the Visionary when you get inside. Tell him the soldiers gave you no money then agree to join his religion to continue the quest if the soldiers died you can just join the religion.

Search the hut for two pages of the Visionary's notes then leave. Go to the area the Endrega attacked and over to the puddles, this is the Twin Lake area the Visionary asked us to go. When you arrive make sure it's Dusk, interact with the shrine like object to begin the ritual and drink the Visionary's Potion when the menu comes up. Select to start the ritual again and the screen will be filled with bright colours, there will aslo be a gigantic chicken to your left. Run around slightly and you will fade out and arrive on a ledge.

Pick up another page of Visionary notes then drop down. Return to the Visionary and talk to him about Sabrina's Pupils. When asked tell him what you saw A forest and giant hen. When more options come up go through them all until you find out about a spear and where it is located. Once you have the information you need return to the fort and go into the canteen. When you arrive speak with the relic vendor just by the door. Ask about Yohan's Spear and when he won't tell you where it is you can use the intimidation option to find out what you want to know.

Head back out of the fort down to the brothel on your way speak with Proximo by the arena to collect on the Rotfiend Contract.

Speak with Madame Carole when you arrive and tell her you want a romp with one of her girls then show her the square coins when she asks for proof you can pay. Ask to see Whistling Wendy then enter the tent to speak with her. Say to Wendy 'I want your smile to part the gates of paradise.

Prepare for a fight then enter the wooden door here to meet Verison Traut and after a brief exchange you will need to kill him and five of his followers. Loot the bodies to collect Traut's armour and clues to Traut being tipped off about you then leave through an unlocked door up some stairs to another door that leads back outside. Next you need to locate Dandelion who can be found either by the campfire outside the brothel tent or inside the first area of the fort by one of the campfires there.

Speak with Dandelion and ask 'Is this your crap? Once you've done this go to the King's area and speak with Dethmold. When you arrive tell Dethmold you found the conspiritors and Traut then ask for a reward and say that you can never have too much coin to finish the discussion. Go back to the main area of the fort and on your left will be the prisoner tied to a post. Speak to the guards and ask to speak with the prisoner then do so and go through all of his dialogue if you want to know what is said you will need to have subtitles turned on.

Go back to Dethmold when you are done with the prisoner and say 'I need to cross to the other side for the spear. When you get the option say 'Sure I've got vodka. When you arrive use your medallion again, instead of giving you a protective bubble a purple ball will appear. Follow this purple ball and use your medallion whenever it disappears until you reach the exit portal and go through. Once through go up the path and turn left at the junction to get a scene with some elves.

Go up the path to the left and follow it up the hill and through the large stone gates for another scene. Go through a couple of options then say 'I'm looking for a certain flag. Once this is done say that you can't talk anymore to get things going. Leave the town and go back to where you met the elves just before and continue down to the junction where you turned to reach them.

Take the only other path at the junction to pass through a large stone archway and when you see a wooden statue turn left to go up a short hill where you should find a wooden door inside the mountain. Meditate and drink a Cat Potion then go through the door. Head through the tunnel and take out any Nekkers that appear then go through the next door you find. Turn immediately left as soon as you are through and enter the first door on your right when you come to it then again through another door on your right in the next room.

Go down this tunnel and on your left a bunch of Nekkers will appear so be careful. At the end of this tunnel go through two doors to reach an intersection where a Greater Rotfiend will attack, once it's dead take the tunnel to your left and go through the next door.

Go right through a tunnel where you come to another intersection, kill the Rotfiends and Nekkers here then take the left path where you will soon find a Bullvore to kill and just behind it a Greater Rotfiend. Return to the first room of this area and go through the door on the left this time where you will fight another Bullvore. Loot the body of a dwarf here to get the Catacomb Key then go through the next door to find Zoltan nearby for a scene, once over you can choose to remain underground to use the key we just found to collect something but it isn't really worth the trouble so choose to return to the surface instead.

Outside the caves turn left at the wooden statue and you should enter the Old Quarry. Go into the hut here and speak to the man to get a quest from him where you must collect twelve Harpy Feathers which you can find down the path directly across from the hut. Once you have the required amount return and speak with him again to find he wants some more so agree then collect another 60 feathers for him.

Go back to where you fought the Harpies and go all the way down into the crater to fight a whole group of them and loot the feathers, when all are dead go up to the hut and meditate to fast forward time to around noon causing more to spawn. Repeat this method and you should have enough feathers in three to four trips. Once you have collected the 60 go back and he will ask for just eight more. When you have the final eight feathers hand them over and leave the hut. Make your way back now to the dwarven city and speak to Skalen by the entrance about the Spear of Destiny.

So I decided to cheat a little. I decided to keep a save and play out both choices, just so I could see the start to each path and see if one of them rubbed me the wrong way.

And boy did it ever. The second Iorveth said: "Leave them. Our women are prepared to die", I saw him for what he was: A terrorist that has lost his moral compass in the pursuit of his goal. In light of recent events in the real world, you can see that just as with Al Qaida and ISIS, there are the beginnings of a legitimate cause in there somewhere, but the methods they employ are so beyond the pale that any legitimacy is instantly wiped out and replaced with revulsion.

Roche on the other hand is not ruled by hatred the same way Iorveth is. He is doing his job. He never so far in the game, at least expresses dislike for any innocent non-humans. His problem with the scoia'tael is not that they are non-humans, it is that they are bandits and terrorists, no matter their race. And that is the only position I can morally get behind. To me, going with Iorveth is like hating every white westerner because you are arab, or hating every arab because you're a white westerner.

Going with Roche is like judging people by their actions, and not by their color or religion. Plus, you get to kill that scum Loredo as a bonus. Jesus H. Yep, Roche all the way.

Have you already played The Witcher 3? If not, you're in for a treat. Roche's Witcher 2 path also led to what I feel was perhaps the greatest moral dilemma I've ever experienced in a game--which you likely haven't seen yet-- what to do regarding Ves and the king. Such great storytelling and dialog in those games. They really put nearly every other developer to shame in those areas.

No, I'm doing these in order. I've fiddled a little with the prologue to Witcher 3, just to see how good the graphics look, but I'm saving it. I don't know guys, somehow Iorveth path seemed more appropriate to me. Vergen is such an awesome city and lets for you relax a bit and explore, chat with old friends, and the succubus quest was awesome.
